Evelyn Bolton

Full name Anne Evelyn Bunting. Born in 1928 and grew up in Northern Ireland, but relocated to the USA in 1959 with her husband and children. As a child she enjoyed making up stories, but it wasn't until living in America that she began writing: signing up to a writing course at a community college, and eventually going on to publish her own work. She is a prolific author who also writes as Eve Bunting. She has written books for children of all ages from picture books upwards and in many different genres. A lot of her books feature settings or themes from her homeland of Northern Ireland. She has won a huge amount of awards for her writing.

As Evelyn Bolton she wrote five horse-themed stories, all fairly traditional.
